Scrapbook Stuff

First One

With this frame and picture combination the picture layer is below the frame layer.

The picture was larger than the frame so it had to be scaled down to fit the frame.

You can do this with a frame that is transparent where the picture is going to go,

The advantage of this frame (and others like it) is that you can move the image around to get just what you want to show in the frame.

If you wanted the white part of the image to be filled with a background of some sort then you would have to select the white part and delete it.

To make sure you always have access to the image with the transparent background save the file as a .png - not .jpg.

If you have done a lot of work to delete a background and you have a bunch of layers then save the file as a .pspimage - this keeps all of the layers intact so you can go back and mess with them again.

You can see this is a simple little two layer presentation.

I started with the frame, selected and copy the image then went back to the fram and pasted the image.  It was at the top of the stock so I dragged the frame layer above the picture.

The picture was too large so I scaled it down to fit.

Second One

This was done the same way as the first one.  The picture had to be scaled down a lot to make it fit (actually, I cropped it, copied the cropped image, pasted it over the frame and then scaled it down) - I like the final result because the frame fits to two pretty young gals.

Third One

This background has the text and the image on top with a drop shadow added to the image and the text.

The original pattern was gray and black so I changed it with Hue/Saturation/Lightness.  Put a check mark in the Colorize box and move the Hue slider around to find a color you like and then fool around with the Saturation and Lightness sliders.

First One Again

fourI had to go back and re-do the first one.

It has three layers now - the background layer (I changed the color from red to brown-ish)

Then the image.  The white background was removed and the image saved as a .png.

The image was copied and pasted as a new layer above the background and then the tree and leaf frame was added as the top layer.

Some re-sizing and copying was done to get the final result.
