Hi Guys,
First off what a great tutorial. I have been using PSP as a general Photo enhancer for a while now and i wanted to give my creative juices a workout but couldn't understand how to use the powerful creative tools in PSP until i stumbled upon your website, and i am mighty glad i did, it has been a marvelous help and even now if i get stuck or forget how to do a certain thing all i have to do is look upo this tutorial, MARVELOUS.
My question is, how do i personalise my creations with my own signature the way an artist does his paintings?. I am using a Wacom Bamboo pen and touch (makes life a whole lot easier). Hope you can help. Keep up the great work.Thanks. P.S I am using PSP 14.

Adding A Signature
by: Richard

Thanks for the nice comments - I really appreciate them!

Now to your question about adding a signature ...

There may be an easier way but this will work. What you need to do is make a signature on a blank layer with your Bamboo.

Make it a nice black signature.

Now take the Magic Wand and click anywhere on the Layer with the signature but not on the signature. Now go to Selections > Invert and then Edit > Copy.

Double click the Background Layer and then click OK. The makes the Background Layer into a Raster Layer. Delete this layer so the document is now just the layer with the signature

Now you have a copy of your signature in memory with no background color - a nice transparent background.

The next stop is Edit > Paste As New Image and now you've got your signature as a single layer document.

Go to Save As and when the dialogue comes up drop down the Type dialogue and choose PNG - Portable Network Graphics. This format saves the file just as you see it with no background color - just a transparent background with your signature.

To put it on a document just open the signature file, Select All > Copy and then Edit > Paste As A New Layer on any document where you want a signature.

Use the Move Tool to change its position and then flatten the the image.

Hope that will work for you ...!
