Dodge and Burning a Mono Image (from scanned Mono film)

by David O'Connor
(Dublin, Ireland.)

Rich,

Thank you for introducing me to the Tablet. Im a mono film purist who scans his film to computer, the images becoming a sort of contact sheet for me thereafter.

Your tutorials are revelatory. I believe in simble processing like dodging and burning ( as would happen in a wet darkroom). Your vids and tutorial using Corel Paintshop are stunning however I have a favour.

Can you do a tutorial on the Mono Image covering portrait and landscape again concentrating on the dodge and burn technique. If possible use a scanned neg or raw mono image.

I wont give up film but the simplicity and elegance of the tablet and corel have done a lot to win me over to digital printing.

Apologies for the shopping list but Im certain there are many out there just as interested as I.

Many thanks,

David O'Connor
