Brush Variance

Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 has pressure sensitivity built in and it is accessed through the Brush Variance palette (F11).  What this does is change the dynamics of your pen strokes according to the pressure you apply  - obviously you need a Wacom tablet installed to take advantage of pressure sensitivity.

This is an impressive palette where you can change nine different dynamics ro react to pen pressure.  The options you can change are:
PSP Brush Variance
  • Color Blend
  • Hue
  • Saturation
  • Lightness
  • Size
  • Opacity
  • Thickness
  • Rotation
  • Density

... and each one of these dynamics can be adjusted in one of these twelve different ways:

Brush Variance Settings
So - if you do the math - you will quickly see that a Wacom tablet will add the potential of 108 different dynamics for your brushes.

NOTE:  Tilt Angle and Tilt Direction only works with an Intuos tablet because the Intuos has pen tilt capabilities.  Fingerwheel works with the Airbrush Pen on an Intuos tablet.

Now I can load enough screen shots of the different settings to make your head swim or I can create and embed a video - hmmm - tough choice - I think I'll go with the video.
